Cable modems enable a CATV system with bidirectional hybrid-fiber coax (HFC) capability to serve as a two-way high-speed data port, which can be utilized to provide telephony and Internet access service to the home. The performance of mixed signal front end devices and digital signal processing capabilities will drive next generation cable modem designs. Other critical components offered by Analog Devices are high speed amplifiers, power management, signal control, and references (Vrefs and flexible clock ref.).
